According to what was reported today by Il Corriere dello Sport, in recent days there was a meeting between the next sports director of Napoli, Giovanni Manna, and the agents of Lille's Canadian forward, Jonathan David, who has reportedly been linked with a move to AC Milan in view of the upcoming summer transfer market.
According to the Italian newspaper, the parties would have reached an agreement for a contract worth 3 million euros per season. Therefore, David could be the successor to Osimhen, but the agreement with Lille still needs to be finalised, as they are asking for at least 50 million euros for the 24-year-old centre-forward.
Napoli club president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, sent an offer which does not go beyond 35 million euros plus bonuses, but the excellent relationship between the clubs could facilitate an agreement.
Jonathan David's contract with Lille runs until the summer of 2025. The former KAA Gent striker has scored 23 goals plus 7 assists so far this season after 41 appearances and 3103 minutes played in total.
