Vincenzo Vergine, head of Rossoneri club's youth sector, expressed himself to the club's official channel at the end of Milan - Porto, which secured qualification to the UEFA Youth League final for Abate's Rossoneri:
"Being in the final means writing an important page in history, because Milan is the first club in the history of Italian football to qualify. It confirms that we are trying with the means we have to win, to lift the trophy."
He added:
"The most important thing is that, after this event, the boys will return to Milan to dive into the playoffs to win the Scudetto. That's the winning mentality. The result in the youth sector is a signal that we are on the right track; certain matches give you awareness to maybe then move on to the football of the greats."
Vergine continued:
"We are outlining a model, and in the future, this type of activity increasingly makes us protagonists. And then this is an honour for the club, with executives Moncada and D'Ottavio. A beautiful period awaits the boys. I dedicate this victory to all our fans and to Tino Borneo (Milan U-12 coach), who recently passed away."
