Last night, in the Sky Sport 24 studios after the Saturday match between Verona and Udinese, the market expert journalist Gianluca Di Marzio intervened to talk about who could be the future coach of Milan. One of the main candidates to replace Stefano Pioli, now reportedly reaching the end of his tenure, seems to be the Spanish Julen Lopetegui, identified along with a series of other names by the technical side of the Rossoneri management. But, it seems that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the rest of the managers are not too keen on the Spaniard.
These are Di Marzio's words on Julen Lopetegui:
"Lopetegui has been approached and met several times but not by Ibrahimovic. He is liked for his methodology, for the work he does, he presented himself well. Among those who have been approached, he is one who was immediately liked because he didn't immediately say 'I want this player or that one,' he would embrace the club's philosophy, he would have a contract worth 4 million a year, he has put West Ham on hold which offers him much more and is willing to wait for Milan even for a month. The decision makers are Cardinale and I think Ibra's opinion will be fundamental: I don't know if this name warms the ownership and Ibra. It will be discussed when they all meet together in the coming days: the technical side will put various candidates on the table, including Lopetegui. I believe they want a profile with greater appeal than Lopetegui."
