Interviewed by La Stampa, Ariedo Braida spoke about the role of a football executive:
"The indispensable characteristic? Competence. Not only in having a keen eye to assess if a player is strong, but also in going to the team's training center every day. A good executive is not only seen in the summer or in January, but all year round. They must always have their antennas up to understand everyone's issues."
On Paolo Maldini as an executive, Braida said:
"I can assess from the outside because I don't know the internal dynamics. Paolo, with Massara, had become a reference point. He represents the history of Milan. They seem intangible factors, but they are key issues. It's surprising to see that someone who understands football is no longer there."
