Mario Balotelli, former striker for both Milan and Inter, spoke on Vox to Box, specifically addressing the words and actions during Inter's celebrations for their twentieth Serie A title by some of the Nerazzurri players. On one hand, there were the words of Hakan Calhanoglu, former Rossonero, who, from his point of view, removed some pebbles from his shoe. On the other hand, Denzel Dumfries raised an offensive banner on the parade bus directed at Theo Hernandez, depicted as a dog on the leash of the Dutch full-back.
Balotelli's words on the matter:
"But it's beautiful, guys: if these are the taunts in football, that's the beauty of it. If I were Theo, I would have felt annoyed, but it's part of football: if Milan had won, he probably would have done the same. The limit is race and religion, then if the taunt is on the pitch like Dumfries', it's okay: it becomes excessive when it turns into a personal insult about family. And then I say Calhanoglu was a gentleman: if it were me, I don't know what I would have done."
