Regarding AC Milan's upcoming summer transfer market, which, in addition to a top striker, will also need to strengthen the midfield, today's edition of the Tuttosport newspaper published the following headline:
"The Dominguez hypothesis comes back into fashion."
The Rossoneri are in search of a defensive midfielder, and there might be a resurgence of interest in Nico Dominguez, former Bologna player now at Nottingham Forest, whom the Milan management closely monitored last summer before the Argentine decided to move to the Premier League.
The 25-year-old's season in England, however, hasn't been particularly impressive, and therefore, it's not excluded that he might decide to change teams again and perhaps return to Italy where he had performed very well with Bologna.
Of course, other midfield options remain alive for Milan as well, particularly those leading to Youssouf Fofana of Monaco, Renato Veiga of Basel, and Soufyan Amrabat, who will return to Fiorentina after his loan spell at Manchester United.
