As reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper, AC Milan are still in the process of identifying the right profile to replace Stefano Pioli for the new season.
Sergio Conceiçao is in the running. He could bid farewell to Porto at the end of the season despite having renewed his contract until 2028 just a few weeks ago. Milan, however, is not the only club interested in him; another international contender seems to have stepped forward. Conceiçao is favored over his compatriot Paulo Fonseca, who has a lucrative and significant offer from Marseille but is obviously very intrigued by the Milan idea.
There are still other profiles in the mix, such as Roberto Martinez, the coach of Portugal national team, and Domenico Tedesco, the coach of Belgium national team, who will be busy with the upcoming European Championship and can only arrive at Milanello in late July.
In Europe, Mark Van Bommel is also being watched with interest, liked by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while outside the continent, the trail leading to Christophe Galtier, formerly of PSG and now at Al-Duhail in Qatar, is still alive.
On the other hand, Marcelo Gallardo's prospects have significantly declined, the former River Plate coach and current manager of Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia (who is reportedly set to leave).
