The season is almost over with just one more matchday to go. AC Milan will remain second in the league standings. But overall, it has been a disappointing campaign in terms of performances. The club, which will bid farewell to head coach Stefano Pioli at the end of the season, is already planning to reinforce the team to deliver better results next season.
In the summer transfer window of 2024, Olivier Giroud will join LA FC on a free as his contract runs out soon with the Rossoneri. Geoffrey Moncada and his colleagues at Casa Milan, therefore, are looking for a valid alternative for the Frenchman.
The club's primary transfer target remains Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee, the Dutch centre-forward who will turn 23 next Wednesday. But there are also alternative solutions.
According to reports from CaughtOffside, Fabio Silva is expected to leave Wolverhampton (currently on loan at Rangers) during the summer transfer window. Milan is interested, as are Bologna, Sevilla, and Real Betis.
The price could be much lower than that of Zirkzee: Silva might be available for around 20 million pounds (a little over 23 million euros). It should also be noted that the 21-year-old Portuguese striker was linked to Milan in the last summer transfer window as well.
