Malick Thiaw, defender for Milan, gave an interview to Eurosport. Here are his names, as relayed via Calciomercato.com:
"This has been a season from which I can learn. I think I started quite well in the first matches, then there were some where I could have done better, but even those helped me improve. Then there was the injury. After that, it wasn't easy for me to come back, I didn't know certain feelings, it was the first time. But now I feel good. And I think that for the team it wasn't such a bad season, we finished second. Obviously, the losses to Roma and Inter were really tough... More is expected from a great club like Milan. We definitely have to do better next season."
Thiaw on where the season could have changed:
"There wasn't a specific moment, but some important ones... There were many injuries. I think the Roma match was a key moment, everyone judged us. We wanted to win the Europa League, so if I had to choose a single moment, I'd say the match against Roma."
On the inspiration:
"Yes, I was young and I couldn't see him on the field, but I'd say Paolo Maldini. My father talked to me about him and when I came, I got to meet and talk to him."
Toughest opponent he faced:
"I think Lukaku is really strong. But also Lautaro Martinez..."
On Italian football and tactics:
"Yes, totally true. Different from the Bundesliga, but it's not as tactical as they say: it's very fast, for me, and there are lots of duels, the smallest details decide matches more quickly than in other leagues. You have to be focused for the entire 90 minutes: there aren't many goals, if you make mistakes you're punished."
The first match at the San Siro:
"Incredible, I remember it like it was yesterday, it was the derby... I didn't play, I was on the bench, but I don't think there's a better match. My family wasn't here yet."
Thiaw on a player he wished to play with:
"I'd say Kevin Prince Boateng. Sometimes I watch some of his matches or some crazy goals he scored, I remember Arsenal and Barca... I'd like to be like him!"
On the European Cup with Germany:
"The European Championship at home is every boy's dream, I can't wait for it. Let's not focus on the past, we know we have to do better."
