At the end of the Milan Primavera season, Ignazio Abate officially announced that he is leaving the Rossoneri club after his time in the youth sector.
The former full-back announced this live on Sportitalia:
"This was my last match as the coach of Milan, I feel ready for professional football level."
Milan Primavera failed to achieve the feat of beating Lazio and advancing to the semifinals of the Primavera 1 championship. The Rossoneri gave it their all, but in the end, they fell just short, missing out by a single goal. The match ended 1-1 at Viola Park with both goals scored in the first half: Bartesaghi put Milan ahead, and Sana Fernandes equalised for Lazio with the first of only two shots on target by the Biancocelesti in the game. A draw was enough for the team from the capital to reach the semifinal against Roma, and that's how it ended. In the second half, the Rossoneri had three scoring opportunities, but Lazio's defence and a bit of inaccuracy denied Milan the joy of a goal. The Rossoneri were playing without Camarda, Liberali, and Sala (engaged in the Euro competition for the U-17 category), as well as captain Kevin Zeroli.
