AC Milan is looking for at least one reinforcement per department in the market. In midfield, their target is Youssouf Fofana. The French-Malian player is under contract with Monaco until June 2025, having joined from Strasbourg for 15 million euros in the January 2020 transfer window.
At that time, Cesc Fabregas was also playing for the Monaco team. The former Spanish midfielder, who played for Arsenal, Barcelona, and Chelsea, ended his playing career at Como, which he led to Serie A this year as a coach.
Fabregas himself said on the BBC's Planet Premier League podcast:
"I know Fofana, we played together. I haven't heard anything about interest from Manchester United, but I heard that he is going to Milan because the new coach will come from France and it will be Paulo Fonseca. They know each other, we will see", as relayed via Calciomercato.com.
