The official exclusion of Ancona from the next Serie C championship is just a matter of time. COVISOC has already informed the club, as reported by Corriere dello Sport, that the team will not be allowed to register for the tournament next season. This is how the newspaper headlines this morning:
"Ancona out, the verdict is predictable."
The non-payment of the club was crucial and also the April salaries. Milan U23 is ready to step in.
The official decision will be issued on Friday by the Federal Council, after considering Covisoc's opinion. Theoretically, Ancona would have time to appeal to COVISOC, but the insolvency due to unpaid salaries is certain, making it pointless to mount a defence that would not have solid grounds. All this opens the doors to Milan U23, which will be coached by Daniele Bonera and will be the third Serie A second team registered in the Serie C championship, after Atalanta U-23 and Juventus Next Gen.
