The stalemate between Milan and Kia Joorabchian continues regarding the commissions the Anglo-Iranian agent is demanding to finalise the purchase of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna. This situation is greatly annoying the top executives at Casa Milan, as Kia's demands have settled at 15 million euros to give the final green light for his client's transfer to the Rossoneri. Milan already has the 40 million euros ready to activate Zirkzee's release clause stipulated in his contract and has a basic agreement with the player for a five-year deal worth 4.5 million euros per season.
Despite everything, Zirkzee remains Milan's primary target for their attack, but it is clear and evident that the club's patience cannot (and should not) be infinite. Kia is playing hardball, sticking to his initial commission request, which amounts to 37% of the value of the release clause.
This is happening because Joorabchian wants to be recognised for including an affordable clause to allow Zirkzee to leave Bologna. There is not yet a breakdown in negotiations between the parties, and the feeling is that Milan will seek new negotiations with Kia to try to close the deal unless a club like Manchester United comes along and offers the agent the money he wants.
Should the negotiations for Zirkzee collapse, Milan might decisively turn to Artem Dovbyk from Girona, currently playing in the European Championship with Ukraine. A center-forward with different characteristics compared to Zirkzee, Dovbyk has a release clause equal to Zirkzee's, which is 40 million euros.
