The search continues for AC Milan, which needs to find a new starting number 9 in the transfer market to bring into Paulo Fonseca's squad for the upcoming season.
The number one target, as mentioned for many weeks, is Joshua Zirkzee, but difficulties in finalising the deal due to the high commission demands from the agent have led the Rossoneri to explore new options. Journalist Manuele Baiocchini spoke to Sky Sport to clarify one of the alternatives that Milan is keeping an eye on: Romelu Lukaku.
"At this moment, Milan might be ready, but Chelsea is not, regarding the transfer formula for Romelu Lukaku. Currently, Chelsea, to avoid making a loss since it has never been a positive operation, wants to sell him for the amount he is valued on their balance sheet: 37 million pounds, or 34.5 million euros. Milan, however, does not want a permanent purchase but prefers another loan with an option to buy. Therefore, let's say that the deal is not very hot because the figures for the Lukaku deal, not only the transfer fee but also the salary, are still prohibitive for Milan, which is nonetheless following the matter closely."
This was relayed from Radio Rossonera.
