Aurelien Tchouameni, the French midfielder, spoke to reporters in the mixed zone after the penalty shootout victory against Portugal in the quarterfinals of Euro 2024 yesterday:
"We don't care if this qualification is deserved or not. We want to savor the taste of this victory. It's true that everything is not perfect, both in attack and defense. We get hit, sometimes justly. But we're not picky, we're in the semifinals against Spain. Everyone can talk, even you journalists, do your job."
Tchouameni then praised Mike Maignan, who delivered a stunning performance:
"Mike Maignan is an incredible goalkeeper. He is one of the best in the world, and Milan is very lucky to have him. We are very good in defense, but when they manage to get through, we are fortunate to have a goalkeeper who makes a difference."
