As pointed out by Milan News, the Rossoneri club management continues to make moves for the striker. The target? Alvaro Morata.
In fact, new contacts between Milan and Álvaro Morata's entourage were made last night. At the moment, the striker is still engaged in the European Championships (tonight at 9:00 PM CEST is the semi-final against France), but his agents are working to explore a possible transfer after his last season at Atletico Madrid, which gave him the most prolific season of his career (21 goals) but also new misunderstandings with Simeone and, above all, the Spanish football environment, which Morata himself described as "disrespectful" in an interview with El Mundo. Returning to the negotiation with the Rossoneri club, the parties are in constant contact and working to close the deal: even during the last season, relations were kept alive after the interest of last summer.
According to what filters from the top levels of Casa Milan, there is optimism for the successful completion of the operation. Morata will give his final response only at the end of the European Championship, but in the meantime, the Rossoneri club is working on the contractual terms. It will not be a problem to pry him away from Atletico Madrid, as it will be enough to pay the clause of 13 million euros.
More work is expected, conversely, on the salary issue: Milan offers a three-year contract. Currently, Morata earns a salary between 5 and 6 million euros. The Rossoneri are waiting for the end of the European Championship, moving forward with the agents, and are hopefully awaiting a positive response from the player.
