Speaking to Sky Sport, former footballer and current sports commentator Riccardo Montolivo discussed AC Milan and the incoming transfers the club's management is working on in this transfer market. The former captain of the Rossoneri particularly focused on the forward position, noting that with Joshua Zirkzee no longer an option, Alvaro Morata, the Atlético Madrid player and captain of the Spain team that reached the Euro 2024 finals, seems to be a potential target.
According to Montolivo, the Spaniard might not fulfill Milan's dire need for goals in the upcoming season. The former footballer supported the opinion of many pundits and fans, saying:
"Morata to Milan? He is a very intelligent striker, but I don't think he can solve Milan's problems. They need two players up front."
