As written by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, the situation regarding Strahinja Pavlovic, a defensive target, and Youssouf Fofana, a midfield target, is very similar. The common denominator is that Milan has received the okay from both players, who have expressed their desire to wear the Rossoneri jersey and will push their respective clubs to make this happen. Starting with the Serbian center-back born in 2001, the situation is a bit more complicated: Pavlovic has a contract until 2027, and for this reason, Salzburg will not offer any discounts.
Currently, the initial asking price is 30 million euros while Milan's offer is "only" 15 plus bonuses: to finalize the deal, Milan must increase their fixed offer to at least 20 million.
The goal for the French midfielder is a bit simpler (on paper): Fofana has already informed Monaco that he will not renew his contract, which expires in 2025, and that he intends to leave this summer. Therefore, Monaco has little leverage: they are asking for 20 million euros, while the current offer is slightly lower.
