Mario Hermoso is still available on the free agent market. The Spanish defender, born in 1995, left Atletico Madrid on a free transfer last June 30th but has yet to agree on terms with a new club, despite interest from Aston Villa and a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.
Hermoso is intrigued by the idea of playing in Italy, where Simone Inzaghi would like to have him at Inter and Antonio Conte at Napoli. However, after already acquiring Buongiorno from Torino and Rafa Marin from Real Madrid, Napoli must first sell Ostigard (close to Rennes) and either Juan Jesus or Natan. On the other hand, Inter saw their chance to sign Verona's Colombian player, Cabal, slip away as he is set to join Juventus.
And it doesn't end there; Milan is back in pursuit of Hermoso. The Rossoneri directors are looking for a central defender to gift the new coach Paulo Fonseca. The main target remains Serbian Pavlovic, but if an agreement with Salzburg is not reached, Milan is ready to pursue discussions with Hermoso further.
