Gianluca Di Marzio, interviewed by ilgiornale.it, commented on the transfer that brought Emerson Royal to Milan:
"Why was the deal for Emerson Royal so long and exhausting? Simply because two tough clubs were involved: on one side, there's Levy, one of the toughest in the Premier League, and on the other side, Milan, a club very attentive to the budget and even to every million euros."
Di Marzio added:
"They fought to show who was stronger, but in the end, as mentioned, Emerson will arrive and be the third player Milan will sign, especially since with Florenzi's injury, a strong alternative is needed on that flank."
