The upcoming derby between Milan and Inter, which will be played on Sunday, September 22 at 8:45 PM, is heading towards a Serie A record.
This is according to today's edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, which reports that the derby, with both teams arriving after a tough Champions League match, is expected to be the highest-grossing match in the history of the Italian league.
The derby's revenue set to reach an impressive milestone...
According to the newspaper, revenues are projected to reach 7 million euros, almost half a million more than the 6.6 million from the Inter-Juventus match in October 2019, which currently holds the record.
Inter will be hosting and it will certainly be a difficult and interesting match to follow. The seven-time Champions League winners do not exactly have happy memories in recent seasons when facing Simone Inzaghi's squad. Paulo Fonseca, however, who is yet to win with his Milan in the league, will certainly be hoping to break the Rossoneri's losing streak against the Nerazzurri in the derby.
