AC Milan's head coach, Paulo Fonseca has recovered his captain, Davide Calabria, in view of the Champions League commitment against Bayer Leverkusen.
The Italian defender, in fact, is ready to travel with the rest of the team to Germany. It remains to be seen, however, if he will be the starting right-back in the lineup or if the Portuguese tactician will choose to continue with the ex Tottenham player Emerson Royal.

What about Calabria's future?
The contractual situation surrounding Calabria is a hot topic at Milan: his current agreement will expire in July 2025. After spending his entire football career with the Rossoneri, from his first steps to wearing the captain’s armband in the first team, Davide could say goodbye to his beloved club, according to Calciomercato.com.
Negotiations between his agents and the Milan management for a renewal practically came to a halt last spring: the initial talks had highlighted a significant gap between the demands of the player and the offer from Milan.

Possible farewell between Calabria and Milan?
The 27-year-old Italian had the opportunity to leave Milan last summer. On one hand, the club had just made a significant investment of 15 million euros for Emerson Royal in the same position. On the other, there was ambitious Galatasaray pushing hard. Calabria, though, did not feel ready to leave the club, and in his heart, he still hopes to reach an agreement with the management. But, such a scenario seems quite difficult to materialise as of today.
