Interviewed in today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mattia Caldara, who transferred to Modena from AC Milan on a free contract, spoke about his very challenging experience with the Rossoneri:

"I arrived in the summer of 2018, then in October I injured my Achilles tendon, but they didn’t operate, and I thought I’d recover. Instead, it took a long time... It got even worse when I tore my ACL in May, just after returning; I asked myself a thousand questions—it was tough to accept. The people who cared about me were my lifeline. And I was born to play; the goal was always to get back on the field, quickly."
Caldara continued:
"In 2023, still at Milan but on the sidelines? It was because of an ankle issue I’d had since my time at Spezia. I only felt good in February, but the transfer window was already closed. Oh well. At least I got to make my debut on the final matchday. After my first spell in Milan, I felt worse. After the second, I felt good; I had trained consistently, and as soon as Modena approached me, I said yes without thinking twice."
