Italian journalist, Alfredo Pedullà, speaking on Sportitalia, commented on Milan's current situation:
"I believe this phrase from Fonseca says it all: 'Leao is doing everything he can to return to the starting lineup.' If you had heard this phrase on July 7th, you would have been told he wasn't talking about Milan, but about another team It's a bit surreal, yet this phrase encapsulates the confusion and the sad trajectory Milan is on."
Pedullà continued to talk about Milan, with a comparison to Juve's project:
"It's a different situation from Juventus, which went through a rebuilding phase; it's normal for them to have issues. At Milan, we're talking about a group that was supposed to restart from a solid base, with certainties in Pulisic and Leao. They acquired a center-forward, Theo Hernandez stayed, and they have Reijnders, Maignan, and Tomori. And yet now, they're working to get Leao back into the starting lineup. It's a season that's taking a sad turn for Milan."
