This morning, at the Municipality of San Donato Milanese, a meeting was held between Mayor Francesco Squeri and Paolo Scaroni, the AC Milan president, who accepted the Mayor’s recent invitation to discuss the club’s intentions regarding the stadium project in the San Francesco area.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the status of the Program Agreement, which is proceeding according to the planned schedule.
Currently, the process for the Strategic Environmental Assessment is underway. President Scaroni expressed his satisfaction with the meeting and reaffirmed the club’s commitment to advancing the procedural steps for a project that is a priority for AC Milan.
"I thank President Scaroni,” said Mayor Squeri, "for accepting the invitation to discuss Milan's intentions in person. I leave this meeting with further confirmation of the seriousness and concreteness of the project the club is pursuing for the San Francesco area. While we recognise that there is still a possibility regarding Milan, as I reiterated to Scaroni, the approval from our Administration remains contingent on the successful outcome of the Program Agreement, which must ensure a series of answers and protections for our citizens and our territory so that the stadium in San Donato can truly represent an opportunity.”
