AC Milan are still considering the options for the stadium project: San Siro or San Donato.
One leads to the construction of the stadium next to the Meazza, alongside Inter, while the other project proposes the building of the stadium on its own in the San Francesco area, south of the city.
San Siro is of interest, but Milan does not abandon San Donato yet

In fact, yesterday, the club president Paolo Scaroni met with the mayor Francesco Squeri, who had recently requested to meet with the club's executives. For the Rossoneri club, San Donato Milanese remains the main route, even now that the possibility of a shared stadium at San Siro has reopened. Scaroni reiterated this to the mayor of the Milanese suburb yesterday, as pointed out by Tuttosport.com.
Why is Milan keeping both San Donato and San Siro options alive?
First of all, because the club has already invested 55 million euros in the San Donato stadium project, for which the Program Agreement has already been initiated. Furthermore, the Rossoneri club managers haven't forgotten what happened with the first attempt (2019) to build the new stadium next to San Siro, which was met with delays, obstacles, restrictions, protests, and long, uncertain timelines.
To abandon the San Donato project, Milan requires clarity and very specific guarantees, things that, for now, no one can provide.
