After Real Madrid, Cagliari, and his excellent performances with Portugal during the last international break, many had hoped that Rafael Leao would be able to shine again against Juventus yesterday.
The result was disappointing, however. It was 0-0 draw with no big chances created. The game was very dull and not up to the expectations of fans or even pundits.
Il Corriere dello Sport newspaper commented on the match and especially on the Portuguese left-winger of AC Milan.
What was Rafael Leao lacking against Juventus?
Against the Bianconeri, the former Lille player was not in his top form. He lacked that energy and spark. He didn't really stand out. In fact, as pointed out by the newspaper, the only time where he caught some eyeballs was when he dribbled his way into the penalty box and then awkwardly fell, in a quest for a penalty.
His search for consistency (much like Milan's) is still far from being realised, and his performance against Juventus confirmed that.
The problem, as per the newspaper mentioned above, is that Rafael Leao was unable to prove himself against Juventus. Unlike recent years, in fact, Rafa was almost always among the best performers on the pitch when Milan had to face a big opponent.
