Milan is working to generate funds and make room in the squad for new signings.
The departures, and specifically the manner of those departures, will dictate the moves the Rossoneri can make to strengthen the team.
With Kyle Walker’s arrival nearly finalized, the priority now shifts to bolstering the attack. The first option, should the proceeds from the outright sale of Pavlovic materialize, is Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord. The Rossoneri already sought him last summer before pivoting to Abraham. Now, they are trying again, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Dutch club does not want to sell the striker during this transfer window and is asking for 40 million euros.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, however, with Giorgio Furlani, and Geoffrey Moncada have approved the transfer of the Mexican forward, who holds an Italian passport and is eager to test himself in Serie A to develop further.
The negotiation won’t be easy, but Milan intends to pursue it seriously if they sell the Serbian defender, for whom Galatasaray has submitted a written offer.

After considering Beto, Milan has also been offered Dodi Lukebakio, whom Sevilla purchased from Hertha in 2023 for €10 million. His current valuation? €40 million, deemed too high even to begin negotiations. If no funds are available and the attacking reinforcement must arrive on loan, the primary option remains João Félix. This deal would likely be closed in the final days of the market with help from Jorge Mendes, but it depends on whether Chelsea has a slot open for a loan abroad. Alternatively, Milan is keeping an eye on developments at Manchester United, as they need to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations. United is working on a significant sale (Garnacho? Casemiro?) to pursue a top striker (Gyökeres or Cunha), whose arrival could free up Højlund and Zirkzee. A loan move for the former is Milan’s preferred option.
The City defender will be Milan’s first signing. Progress was made yesterday through further discussions between the clubs. The deal, confirmed as a loan with an option to buy, is being finalized as the parties work out the financial details and contracts. The English international has facilitated the agreement by forfeiting a portion of his wages for the next six months (over €3 million net). He is set to become Milan’s starting right-back. The deal between the clubs should be finalized today, after which the player will be cleared to travel to Milan for his medicals (possibly tomorrow). It’s not ruled out that Walker could be in the stands for tomorrow night’s Champions League match against Girona at San Siro.
Brazilian full-back Emerson, signed last summer for €15 million plus bonuses, is being pursued by Galatasaray. He has not ruled out a move to Turkey, but the operation still needs to be structured: the likely deal would involve a loan with a fee (€1.5 million) and an option to buy (€12-13 million). Fulham has also inquired about Emerson for a permanent transfer, but their offer—around €10 million—would result in a financial loss for Milan. With Walker’s arrival, Emerson would face limited playing time and is seriously considering a move to Istanbul.
The situation is different for Pavlovic. Despite limited playing time since October, he still has suitors. Mourinho's Fenerbahce has tabled an offer of around €20 million plus bonuses for the Serbian defender. However, it remains to be seen if Pavlovic will accept (he is expected to start tomorrow night and isn’t entirely enthusiastic about leaving Milan). The player has also attracted interest from English and German clubs. Milan wouldn’t mind a bidding war, especially after Tomori’s rejection of Juventus, as they plan to keep the Englishman. Pavlovic’s future is tied to the pursuit of Gimenez or the necessity of securing a striker on loan.
Lastly, Real Betis has shown interest in Chukwueze, but their loan proposal is far from Milan’s expectations.
For next season, it’s worth noting the interest in Alan Varela, a 2001-born midfielder from Porto. Conceição is very fond of him, but the Rossoneri are also well aware of him and have been for some time.
