Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Christian Gimenez, father of AC Milan forward Santiago, commented on the negotiations that brought his son to the club:
"Was I always confident? Yes. While they were finalising the deal, Santi kept playing, and his focus was solely on that. Football and Milan became part of our household very early on: Ibrahimovic, Ronaldinho, Kaká, and Inzaghi were his idols when he was little. He already loved the Rossoneri fans and the spectacle of the stadium. Being at San Siro, meeting legends like Baresi, Dida, and Shevchenko in the stands, and then his new teammates, everything left us in awe."
Regarding Sergio Conceição, Santiago Gimenez’s father added:
"The coach has a lot of experience and is demanding in every aspect, which will help my son grow. Likewise, Milan’s playing style and tactical approach can enhance his qualities. My advice to him is to always play with the same determination he has: he’ll have teammates of great quality, which is an advantage for everyone."
