There is a halt in the negotiations between AC Milan and Fabio Paratici, according to the latest reports today. The deal has practically fallen through due to the drafting of clauses that Milan wants to include in the contract, in reference to the criminal trial in which Paratici is involved. At present, the deal is off.

The former Juventus and Tottenham executive is currently awaiting the criminal judgment in the Prisma investigation on capital gains, which has already led to a 30-month ban in sporting matters, and whose ruling is expected on April 15. The verdict, however, might not be final, potentially prolonging the timeline of the sentence. For this reason, Milan wants to safeguard itself with an exit clause.
In addition, heavy media pressure surrounding the issue of the suspension has led the AC Milan club management to reconsider.
With these recent developments, Milan and Paratici’s paths are drifting apart. To protect themselves, the managers are ready to reopen the search for a new sporting director. In this regard, the names of Igli Tare (formerly of Lazio) and Tony D’Amico are coming back into focus, with the latter’s candidacy reportedly gaining more and more traction—especially since he is a profile highly appreciated by CEO Giorgio Furlani.
The current Atalanta executive is under contract, and thus it will not be easy to pry him away from the Bergamo club. In any case, the choice of the new sporting director will not be imminent, as relayed via Milannews.it.
