During his usual editorial for TMW, Sky journalist Luca Marchetti spoke about Milan, referring back to the important victory in last night’s derby which allowed them to secure a ticket to the Coppa Italia final scheduled for next May 14 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome against (presumably and very likely) Bologna:
"[...] It was a magical, triumphant, perfect evening for Milan. They found a new setup, new certainties, and also new protagonists."

"The front cover can only belong to Luka Jovic: an almost mysterious, forgotten object until a month ago. An authentic protagonist in this final stretch of the season, with one of the best nights of his career precisely on the most important night (so far) of a season (both on a personal level and for the team) very poor in satisfactions. Until tonight, Jovic had never played in the Coppa Italia: it was his debut. He hasn’t played a single minute in the Champions League. In the league, he was relegated to the role of third striker: only three starts in the league and one (this one) in the Coppa Italia. Four goals in the last month. One in Naples, at the end, which wasn’t enough to help Milan come back. One against Fiorentina, at home, decisive to catch up with the Viola and snatch a draw. And then tonight: a brace that gifts Milan the Coppa Italia final. He worked hard, got back in shape, and repaid the practically unconditional trust of Coincecao. He took advantage of Gimenez’s unremarkable moment, overtook Abraham, and became the hero of the Coppa night. A practically surprise protagonist in the Rossoneri’s season. Which maybe captures its very nature."
Marchetti continued to talk about the AC Milan team and Luka Jovic further:
"Since the beginning of the season, the Rossoneri have been searching for balance, without ever finding a definitive solution. There have been matches, even under Fonseca’s management, where the stars had shined. But there were too many negative moments, bad games, moments of confusion. The two Portuguese coaches tried everything to fix things and certainly, it didn’t always go well. But now Coincecao seems to have found the right key: objectively, the derby atmosphere helps keep concentration high, to have the right motivation. But finding a protagonist like this one isn’t simply a coincidence: the fact that he’s unexpected doesn’t mean it’s random. Jovic had started the previous two, he had practically played almost the whole match against Fiorentina (replacing a disoriented Musah): Coincecao had believed in him. And at the same time, Milan switched to a three-man defense, to have more balance [...]"
