The President of the FIGC, Gabriele Gravina, spoke on the occasion of the event 'Frecciarossa Game On, Women in Sport 2025,' where he made some statements regarding women’s football. Asked about the topic, he commented as follows:

"The women’s football movement in Italy is constantly evolving and requires increasing attention. It is a steadily growing movement, and I am not referring only to the number of girls playing football. After all, we have tripled the number of registered players in seven years, but what is also important is the appeal that this sport is generating thanks to certain results. I am referring to the milestone of three national teams, for the first time all qualifying for the final stage of the European Championship. It is a movement that makes the FIGC proud because it commits us, but it also gives us great responses."

Gravina added:

"We are also working a lot on forms of support, such as the free registration for Under-12s. But we must make people understand that a cultural revolution is underway, for the recognition of the principles of freedom, rights, and civility. We must help girls and parents understand that passion and talent have no gender, and therefore we must increasingly facilitate access to this game. Generational turnover is very important; there is great work of development being carried out by Soncin. We must continue to support this movement all together."
