“Milan wants Vasquez”
That is the headline featured prominently in the upper section of the front page by La Repubblica (Genoa edition). The Mexican player, currently a defender for Genoa, is in fact liked by the Rossoneri club.
He was pointed out by Santiago Gimenez, his national team teammate, who emphasized that Vasquez is strong and perfect for Milan. However, the defender would prefer not to leave, and Genoa itself would rather sell De Winter.
Here's what Santiago Gimenez said:
"I would sign Johan Vásquez. He’s a very strong central defender, a professional, a tough center-back with a winning mentality. He would be perfect for Milan. He knows the league, he’s been in Italy for a while, he’s been consistent, he doesn’t get injured. I think it would be a good idea to sign him."
