One of the transfer market topics currently surrounding the Rossoneri — and which could continue to do so for a while — is the situation concerning the future of Ismael Bennacer. The Algerian midfielder was sold to Olympique Marseille in January on loan with an option to buy, set at 12 million euros. The player, owned by the Rossoneri, therefore played the second half of the season at the French club, coached by Italian manager Roberto De Zerbi.

According to what is being reported this evening by transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, Marseille intends to keep Ismael Bennacer, even though the buyout clause has not yet been paid to Milan. The issue would not so much be the transfer fee — with the club willing to negotiate either a permanent deal or another loan — but rather the salary of the Algerian national team midfielder, on which the French side and the player himself will need to reach an agreement: at the moment, it is too high for the French. Romano also reports that recent rumors of interest from Al Duhail are not very concrete.
