Despite collecting 57 points in 27 league matches and holding second place in the standings, criticism of Massimiliano Allegri’s Milan persists regarding their style of play and offensive output. Many fans and commentators believe a change in formation could be the right solution, but at the moment the Milan coach does not seem convinced on this matter: no switch to a 4-3-3 the 3-5-2 stays.

Will Allegri change his AC Milan formation?
As explained this morning by 'Il Giornale', it is true that in Cremona Allegri’s mid-game tactical adjustment worked (Saelemaekers out, Fullkrug inserted in the center of the attack alongside Leao on the left and Pulisic on the right), but the ex Juventus head coach remains convinced that the 3-5-2 is the best formation to ensure proper balance for his team and a reliable defensive organization. Therefore, even on Sunday in the derby against Inter, there will be no tactical novelties, and Milan will continue with the system that, whether one likes it or not, has allowed them to sit second in the league.
Allegri's plans:
In Allegri’s view, the 4-3-3 is currently only a solution during the course of a match, as he explained after the win in Cremona: "At this moment, the 4-3-3 is a solution to use in-game because when the pace is high, it is normal that the wingers have to work a lot, which makes us lose some clarity. At that point in the match, we needed offensive players. We brought in Fullkrug and put Pulisic on the right, who, despite having one big chance, played well. He is regaining form, as is Rafa, as are all the others. We will see as we go along; it is possible to play with three forwards and the double pivot. Let’s wait a bit. At this stage of the season, I am not very concerned with formations or systems of play; we have a very big goal to achieve, with the teams behind continuing to earn points."
