Last night, Milan celebrated its long-standing partnership with BMW, which has lasted for several years now. The commercial event, held in Milan, was attended by the three most talked-about figures at the club at the moment: CEO Giorgio Furlani, sporting director Igli Tare, and of course, head coach Massimiliano Allegri. During the evening, all three had the opportunity to speak and reflect on the feelings, objectives, and ambitions tied to Milan for the upcoming season.
Below are Furlani’s statements.
On the expectations ahead of a very important season:
"I haven’t hidden it, and there’s no point in hiding it: last season didn’t go the way we wanted. We're starting fresh this season with the goal we have every year—being competitive enough to win the competitions we’re in. Together with Tare and Allegri, we’ve made some very important additions to our structure, and we’re working collaboratively to ensure this is a successful season. The initial feelings are positive, but until we start playing and winning games, that counts for little."
What have Tare and Allegri brought to the club?
"They’re certainly professionals with vast experience, recognized as being at the top of their fields—their careers speak for themselves, full of trophies, which, I repeat, are our ambition. We're working well together, but what's essential is that when the final whistle blows on August 23, for the league opener, things have gone a certain way."
