Stefano Pioli was just presented as the new head coach of Fiorentina. These were the words of the Tuscan coach during the press conference:
"All the experiences I've had up to now have brought me to a higher level. I take this role on with a sense of responsibility toward the club and the city. I know there are great expectations: we’ve been working together for two days, but I’ve already found a lot of human depth. I had never seen such a beautiful training center—everything is in place to do a great job, I’m convinced of it."
Stefano Pioli continues:
"I chose Florence because I feel it inside. At the first call I received, I had a good feeling. I have a strong connection to this club: I realized that coming back was the right thing to do. I had no doubts. The length of my contract is also tied to this: we want to try to win a trophy and return to the top. That’s why I said we want to raise the level. Allegri didn’t include us among the Champions League contenders? I’ve already written it on the board, we’ll see… I told Dzeko that at the end of Ibra’s first year at Milan, there was no certainty he would stay, and I had asked for Dzeko at Milan. He’s a quality player and very intelligent—he’ll give us a big hand.”
