AC Milan officially welcome Christopher Nkunku today: the Frenchman arrived in Milan last night and will undergo medical examinations, fitness checks, and then sign his contract at the club headquarters today. Yet the Rossoneri’s transfer market business does not seem to end here. Setting aside tonight’s match against Lecce, which will briefly put operations on hold, moves are expected both in terms of arrivals and departures from the board.

Striker and defender
Nkunku might not be the only forward to arrive in these final days of the window. Since he is not a traditional penalty-box striker, the Rossoneri could look to provide Allegri with a player of that profile. With Dusan Vlahović now deemed out of reach, Corriere dello Sport reports that Milan are considering a loan move for Artem Dovbyk who, after just one season, has been shown the door at Roma and does not feature in Gian Piero Gasperini’s plans. Beyond finding the right formula, however, Roma must first secure a replacement in time. More likely, though, is that Milan will finalize a deal for an additional central defender to add quality and experience to a struggling department. The preferred name is Manuel Akanji, the Swiss international at Manchester City: the player has given positive signals and contacts between the two clubs have been encouraging.
One, two, or three departures from AC Milan?
Leaving aside the cases of Yacine Adli and Ismaël Bennacer, both aware since returning from their respective loans that they no longer figure in the Rossoneri’s plans and for whom a solution is being sought in these final days, Milan could be active with at least one, possibly two or even three sales. The most likely, at the moment, is Alex Jimenez, who was not even called up for Lecce. The club is working on a permanent exit or a loan with obligation: Bournemouth are currently in pole position, ahead of Como and Roma. Samuel Chukwueze’s situation is another to watch after tonight’s match: negotiations are ongoing with Fulham over a deal worth 25 million euros in total. Lastly, in the background remains Yunus Musah’s potential move to Atalanta, which is now in doubt due to Ardon Jashari’s long-term injury, forcing Milan to rethink their plans.
