It has been a very busy summer for Igli Tare and his colleagues, as Milan completed an impressive 39 transfer operations in total: ten signings, seven contract expirations, and twenty-two departures. The final days of the window were equally hectic, with the Rossoneri closing two new deals and it could have been three had the swap with Roma involving Santiago Gimenez and Artem Dovbyk gone through.

Rabiot finally reunites with head coach Massimiliano Allegri:

As reported this morning by Corriere della Sera, Massimiliano Allegri can be pleased, because after the international break he will be reunited with Adrien Rabiot, one of his protégés from the Juventus years. Unlike recent transfer campaigns, the 'Diavolo' chose to break from its usual philosophy by offering a three-year contract, with an option for a fourth, to a 30-year-old player. The midfield has undoubtedly been the area most reinforced, with the arrivals of Luka Modrić, Ardon Jashari, Samuele Ricci, and of course Adrien Rabiot.

No experienced defender, however...

In the post-Cremonese defeat summit, Allegri also requested an experienced centre-back to marshal the defense. But in this case, Max’s wish was not fulfilled: Milan had lined up Liverpool’s Joe Gomez, with a private jet and medicals at La Madonnina already prepared, but the Reds refused to sanction the move. As a result, the Rossoneri were forced to change not only their target but also their strategy, turning instead to 2006-born defender David Odogu from Wolfsburg. Meanwhile, the swap with Roma fell through: Gimenez stays at Milan, while Dovbyk continues with the Giallorossi.
