It’s not transfer season, yet when San Siro is discussed, it feels like a market soap opera that drags on all summer or keeps returning over several summers without ever materializing. Since 2018, work has been underway on the San Siro project, yet today neither Milan nor Inter has control to renovate the current stadium area or build a new stadium. The council’s decision on the project was expected on September 11, but it has been postponed again.
Today, the Milan edition of Corriere della Sera reported and commented on this news. The headline read:
"New San Siro Deadline. Stadium Decision Delayed."
The council vote has been moved to next week, no later, as Mayor Beppe Sala stated: “The vote must reach the council between this week and next, most likely next week. Not later, or we won’t make it.” The hope is that this time the mayor’s words will come true.
