Adrien Rabiot gave his first interview to Milan’s official channels. Here are all his statements:

What are your feelings?

“I’m very happy to be a Milan player, such a historic and prestigious club. I’m grateful for this opportunity, happy to be back in Italy. I spent 5 years here and felt very good.”

Your mother Veronique said Milan was your first choice:

"I’m here at Milan, a prestigious club with ambition. I can’t wait to wear this shirt, to do well. I hope to win trophies, that would be great."

You’re reunited with coach Allegri. In what way did he bring out the best in you?

"With him I played in a slightly different role. At Juve we worked a lot on goals, assists, getting into the box, being decisive. I was missing that awareness of what I can do, he helped me a lot, and I also took it with me to Marseille. I’m happy to be back with the coach and his staff. I got along well with them and worked well. They’re top professionals, and so am I. I like working with people like that."

What do you think you can bring to the Milan dressing room?

"My experience, my character on the pitch, both in training and in games. I always train at 100%, I do things properly, with the right mentality. I’m always ready to help the younger players. I know Serie A well, I’m ready to help them with that too."

Have you spoken with the French players?

"I know Mike (Maignan) well, we know each other from the PSG youth academy, also with Nkunku. I also know Youssouf (Fofana) well, we meet often with the national team. We have a good relationship, we’ve spoken. Mike told us about Milan, a big family. For us players it’s important to feel at home."

What does playing at a stadium like San Siro give you?

"There are few stadiums like San Siro, with that atmosphere. Playing in these stadiums gives me something extra, the desire to do well, above all to enjoy myself. It’s true that when I came to San Siro it often went well, I hope to make Milan fans happy."

Why number 12? Rabiot explained

"Because I think it’s a nice number. It doesn’t have a special meaning for me. What matters is what you do on the pitch, and with what you do on the pitch you can make that number important. It could even be the number of goals I should target (smiles). If I reach it, maybe next year I’ll take 15 or 16 to score even more goals."

What is your message to the Rossoneri fans?

“I’m very proud to be here and to be a Milan player. See you on Sunday at the stadium. We need your support, it’s very important. Forza Milan.”
