On the field, the results have been disappointing and last year’s relegation, in their first Serie C venture, combined with the current fifth place in D, just two points behind league leaders Chievo Verona, proves it.
The Milan Futuro project, however, for the club managers is not considered a failure. In fact, the creation of the Under-23 team has developed Rossoneri talents and even contributed to the current second place in Allegri’s senior squad standings.

How did Milan Futuro help Davide Bartesaghi?
The project helped the left-back to accumulate 27 appearances between league and playoff matches. A valuable experience as well as a platform to show his potential. Playing in C has allowed the left-sided 2005-born player to gain some exposure among the “big” players while facing 2025-26 with strong confidence in his abilities. And since both Tare and Allegri started their Rossoneri journey after carefully studying the available materials, Bartesaghi was not loaned out despite many requests.
Now Max uses him consistently since Estupinan is injured and has not yet returned to top form. And Davide is responding well, drawing attention from the Under-21 team, which called him up in October along with Camarda. This forward, now at Lecce, is another talent whom Milan Futuro allowed to grow by gaining minutes among the “pros,” especially at the end of the season. In total, in 2024-25 for the Under-23, Francesco had 20 appearances and 7 goals, as pointed out by those at La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition.
Finished? Not at all, because last year Milan Futuro showcased Zeroli, loaned to Monza in summer, and especially Alex Jimenez, who in December 2024 was promoted to the first team. And if the club loaned him to Bournemouth (1.5 million) with a conditional buy obligation upon reaching half of the seasonal appearances (over 20), the credit also goes to the second Rossoneri team, which, as planned, enhances talents. Results matter more or less? At Milan, where they hope the next star will be striker Sala, there is no doubt.
