Another season, another confirmation. Once again, Andrea Pinamonti is proving to be one of the most competitive forwards in Serie A. His goals and performances are helping newly promoted Sassuolo achieve an excellent first half of the season and accumulate points toward the seasonal objective of avoiding relegation. The Cles-born striker forms a solid attack alongside Berardi and Laurienté, but it could soon be split. The Italian is in demand on the transfer market and could change clubs as early as January, with Lazio and Milan in Serie A and West Ham in the Premier League interested.

Pinamonti's season:

Born in 1999, 26-year-old Pinamonti is entering the prime of his career, reaching full maturity aided by personal life developments, a growing family, and new responsibilities. With a contract at Sassuolo until 2027, he is producing top-level numbers in a league increasingly lacking true goal scorers. He has already scored 4 goals in 14 Serie A matches, despite a minor injury keeping him out in recent weeks. Coach Grosso has entrusted him with leading the attack and is receiving strong performances from his central striker, a profile attracting attention from several clubs, as relayed via Calcio Mercato.

The relegation battle might feel limiting for Pinamonti, who has stats suggesting he is capable of bigger challenges. Several foreign clubs, in addition to Italian teams, have approached Sassuolo. The player would initially move on loan, with an option or obligation to buy for a significant fee. Last season, when Sassuolo fought to stay in Serie A, he went on loan to Genoa with a 15-million-euro purchase option. After returning to Sassuolo in summer following a strong season, his value has risen further. Clubs with higher profiles are now showing interest. West Ham from the Premier League and Lazio and Milan from Serie A are pursuing him.

West Ham are experiencing a difficult season and historic moment. After a coaching change from Potter to Espirito Santo, some improvement was seen, but the attack remains limited. Fullkrug is leaving, and West Ham sees Pinamonti as a potential solution, continuing the tradition of Italian strikers at the club from Di Canio to Scamacca. In Italy, Pinamonti also has many admirers. Lazio tried to bring him to Rome in the past and is attempting again. Sarri has had little contribution from Dia and little from Castellanos, often injured and likely to leave to enable incoming transfers. The Argentine’s departure could open the way for Pinamonti, who is highly valued by the coach.

Milan is also interested. Despite his Inter past, joining Milan could place Pinamonti at a top club fighting for the title. Allegri has requested a true number 9. Gimenez has not convinced, Nkunku is a different type of player and has underperformed, so Allegri would prefer a striker familiar with Serie A who would need no adaptation. A reliable choice.

Is Andrea Pinamonti ready for a big transfer after consistent Serie A action?

Launched by Inter, Pinamonti also played for Frosinone, where he scored his first Serie A goals, Genoa (in two spells), and Empoli, where he exploded with 13 goals in 2021/22. Since then, except for a lighter season, he has consistently reached double figures: 12 goals for Sassuolo in 2023/24, 11 for Genoa in 2024/25, and already 4 in 14 matches this season. At 26, he may be ready for a major step up. Whether in January or June, Pinamonti, one of the last remaining Italian strikers, has a significant move ahead.
