After renewing Mike Maignan’s contract, Milan is preparing to secure another key starter as well, namely Davide Bartesaghi. As reported this morning by Corriere dello Sport, the young left-back is also expected to sign soon, extending his deal until June 30, 2031, with his salary tripled (to around two million euros per season).
Having initially started behind Pervis Estupiñán in Max Allegri’s pecking order, the Rossoneri academy product has now become the regular starter on the left flank for the Diavolo. Milan’s decision to tie down the young left-sided defender comes from the fact that in recent months several foreign clubs, particularly from the Premier League (Arsenal above all), have taken an interest in him. With the renewal, the Rossonero club aims to fend off all suitors for Bartesaghi.
