With the Mateta option fading due to the French striker’s less-than-ideal physical condition, the search for a new centre-forward has already begun at Milan’s headquarters. It’s a real “three-horse race” in Rossoneri terms, with the club’s management tasked with choosing the right man to lead the attack next season.
With Santiago Gimenez’s future highly uncertain, and with Fullkrug and Nkunku still needing to prove they deserve to stay at the club, Max Allegri needs a reliable No. 9 capable of scoring 15–20 goals a season, preferably someone already well established in Serie A.
Kean and Vlahovic: strong but complicated leads...
As Tuttosport reported this morning, the name gaining traction again is Moise Kean. Allegri rates him highly, having launched him at Juventus, and he appreciates the growth and maturity Kean showed during an excellent season at Fiorentina, confirming that he performs well in a stable environment. The 2000-born forward fits the club’s criteria, but prying him away from Fiorentina will not be easy, given the €62 million release clause that can be activated until mid-July. In the background remains Dusan Vlahovic, another of Allegri’s favourites. However, the Serbian’s high salary demands are currently holding Milan back from making a serious move, as relayed via Milan News.
The international appeal of Gabriel Jesus
The third option is the most intriguing: Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian, under contract with Arsenal until June 2027, has returned to prominence after his injuries and is being closely monitored by Milan. His name was already put forward in January, and the lack of concrete progress on a contract renewal with the Gunners, combined with his decision to work with an Italian agent, keeps the possibility of a move to Serie A alive. Ten years ago, Milan was already part of his destiny, though on the Inter side. Now, the Rossoneri are watching closely and ready to step in should an opportunity arise.
