Alessandro Costacurta, former defender for AC Milan and now a pundit on Sky Sport, made statements on the program Sky Sport Club regarding the incident involving Alessandro Bastoni’s simulation and the resulting sending-off of Pierre Kalulu during the Derby d’Italia, which took place on Saturday at San Siro and ended 3–2 for Inter.
Among his various remarks, he also made a comparison between the Nerazzurri defender and a former Rossoneri icon. Here are his words:
"I didn’t expect this type of celebration from Bastoni, especially considering how it happened. I was disappointed because I believe he is becoming part of an elite to which Paolo Maldini, Fabio Cannavaro and very few others belong."
Costacurta added:
"It was a mistake; I hope it doesn’t happen again. We must not forget that we ourselves are the first to load these kinds of matches with expectations."
