“Simulation annoys me; it’s become boring. The other night’s incident was an enthusiastic simulation: Bastoni made an incredible dive after the opponent stretched his arm, which put Bastoni in a position to take advantage. The young player got excited by this opportunity, which ended up being an injustice, because the other player hadn’t committed a serious foul.” This is what former Inter president Massimo Moratti said this morning on Radio Anch’io Sport on Rai Radio 1, commenting on the post-Inter–Juventus controversy and Bastoni’s simulation, which then led to Kalulu’s red card.
Scudetto in Inter’s pocket?
"It seems to me that Inter is doing everything that needed to be done, and even much more. The coaching change had created doubts, but those doubts have now disappeared. Inter should be on the right path, let’s not say more, but that’s already significant."
Moratti doesn’t expect any disciplinary action from Gattuso against Bastoni:
"I believe he will refrain from punishing him. For Bastoni, the attack itself is already a punishment. If Gattuso adds to that, and considering he doesn’t have a very strong national team, it seems not worth it. I don’t know what was going through Bastoni’s mind at that moment; certainly, he is now in the middle of a storm. Poor kid, I hope it passes quickly. Chivu clearly defended him publicly, and maybe in private he told him something."
