Christian Pulisic is going through an unusual and prolonged goal drought that has now lasted over ninety days, as his last goal for AC Milan dates back to 28 December against Hellas Verona.
Despite having scored 87 career goals in Europe and enjoying an excellent start to the season, which had taken him to eight goals by the end of the year, the American now seems to have lost his scoring touch both at club level and with the national team.

In recent USA friendlies against Belgium national football team and Portugal national football team, he appeared wasteful and ineffective in front of goal, as pointed out by La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition.
The forward himself has admitted to feeling some frustration, even saying he would take a lucky deflection off his knee just to break the spell. However, he insists he is physically fit and confident for the remainder of the season, having also recovered from previous hip issues.
Pulisic supported by AC Milan and USMNT:
Massimiliano Allegri and the USMNT national team coach Mauricio Pochettino continue to back him publicly, convinced that his technical quality will once again prove decisive, especially ahead of the match against SSC Napoli and given the absence of Rafael Leao.
With a contract running until 2027, Milan are waiting for the American to rediscover the sharpness he showed earlier in the season, when his understanding with teammates such as Santiago Giménez and Christopher Nkunku was crucial to the team’s results.
