The Rossoneri club is exploring a financially sustainable formula for a major attacking signing.
In the wake of Luka Modrić, could there be a Rossoneri destiny? Robert Lewandowski’s future will be a very hot topic in the coming weeks: the Polish striker is nearing the end of his contract with Barcelona and has not yet made a decision about what comes next. There is interest in him from all over the world: Italy, the United States, and Saudi Arabia. Fabrizio Romano, in a video on his YouTube channel, has provided an update on the situation, mentioning a trip to Italy by agent Pini Zahavi. Juventus and, above all, Milan are interested in the player born in 1988.
The Polish striker’s agent, Pini Zahavi, is planning, among his many trips, a possible visit to Italy. His presence there could help clarify whether there is a chance to move forward with this idea between now and the summer, or whether it is impossible. The issue is financial: if Lewandowski wants to move to Italy, he would have to make a financial sacrifice. This is similar to the offer already made by Barcelona, who have proposed a reduced renewal. Lewandowski is currently not happy with this offer and does not see why he should give up such a large portion of his salary, as relayed via Calcio Mercato.
Are Milan and Juventus linked with Lewandowski's future?
It is not a minor adjustment, but a significant cut that Barcelona have proposed. For this reason, his agent is looking around for other opportunities. There have been exploratory contacts from Italy, from Milan and Juventus, but nothing concrete at the moment, as everything depends on Lewandowski, who currently has very lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia and a very strong proposal from MLS, which he may consider carefully for family and lifestyle reasons. In any case, Pini Zahavi will be in Italy to speak with Italian clubs.
The Rossoneri push:
Milan do not want to stay on the sidelines: Tare has already made initial contact with the player’s entourage. A meeting with Pini Zahavi, the striker’s long-time agent, is set for the coming weeks. The aim is clear: to explore a financially viable structure and understand whether the deal could realistically be done. Lewandowski currently earns €20 million net per year, around three times the salary of Milan’s highest-paid player, Rafael Leão. Zahavi, however, knows the Milan management well: last summer he completed the Nkunku deal from Chelsea, a sign that relations are excellent.
Ibrahimovic's support:
Also pushing for the Polish striker’s arrival is a key supporter: Zlatan Ibrahimović, advisor to RedBird and a central figure in Milan’s project. For Ibrahimović, Lewandowski would be the right player to immediately raise the team’s level, just as he himself did when he returned to Milan in January 2020, transforming Stefano Pioli’s side. A strong endorsement, despite recent rumours of disagreements.
