Manuel Akanji, an Inter defender, gave an interview to sportmediaset.it in which he also reflected on AC Milan’s interest last summer, when they tried to bring him to Milanello:
“I spoke with Milan in the summer, but I felt that Inter was a more suitable destination for me. I’d say the choice has worked out. My agent handled the negotiations with the club, and it all went well in the end.”
Speaking about the end of the season, the Swiss player added:
“We have a solid advantage in Serie A, twelve points ahead of Milan and Napoli with only five matches remaining, which puts us in a very good position. But the Coppa Italia is a different matter; we don’t start with any advantage, except perhaps playing at home. It’s a semi-final, and Como will come to Milan highly motivated, aiming to do their best. However, we want to reach the final and deliver our best performance.”
